These meetings are not a routine
Thy are not a part of daily life
They are a race across time
Hurdling over the weeks and years
They don’t snap easily into place
They loom above and move about
I hear songs of love and affection
But the welcome is of a crocodile’s mouth
Adulthood and religion are the reasons
For this alienation I experience
For my childhood finished too early
And my religion started too late
